Territorial integration

Territorial integration

Joint connection and intergrowth necessarily includes cross-border relations, too. The implementation of this challenge in the entire region has resulted in an intense effort made to create modern and efficient transport connections being a prerequisite of better mutual accessibility.

Such investment is also of crucial importance for the CENTROPE region position – a prime transport and logistic junction situated at the crossing of important European transport corridors.

Equally, a significant challenge is an environment-friendly and sustainable urbanization and territorial development.

Such factors require to be planned where all participating parties act in a uniform way. Four countries, i.e. four different systems of planning and methodology, as well as an immense effort made to provide coordination necessary to achieve the same goals on both sides of the border. Efficient regional planning with cross-border coordination is not possible without knowing the different competences of the individual administrative levels and without a common and comparable database.
